Cornelia Bolz – Art Therapist and Art Teacher

Egyptian Archaeologist, Linguist, Art Therapist and Art Teacher.Glass sculpture artists.

Art therapy involves the use of creative techniques such as drawing, painting, collage, coloring, or sculpting to help people express themselves artistically and examine the psychological and emotional undertones in their art. With the guidance of a credentialed art therapist, clients can “decode” the nonverbal messages, symbols, and metaphors often found in these art forms, which should lead to a better understanding of their feelings and behavior so they can move on to resolve deeper issues.

She grew up in a sculptor school where her daddy was the director. So she was surrounded by art starting from earliest childhood. After her father was retired she started her own professional way by visiting the wood sculptors school. After successfully finishing her apprenticeship she studied Egyptology, Biology and Pedagogic of Art. During her studies she discovered her talent to empathize into the mood and into the mental state of the artist during their creative process. This set the next block to deal with art therapy. Many years she worked as a lecturer for fine arts until she focussed more onto her own creative process, also by learning new techniques as glass- and bronce casting and glass blowing.

The meeting with Sree for her is very special mile stone in her life. He is her spiritual companion an helped her to find her inner center and her joy of life. Thank you so much, Sree!

Female Dancer

Female Dancer

While making this form I was in a mood to dance by myself, full of joy to be able to work in a new technique. First the lady didn´t have any hair - then some wax was dropping into the water and made this frizzy structure that reminded me of curly hair. Sometimes solutions are coming by coincidence. Some friends called her Susan Baker...

Male cast-bronze

Male cast-bronze

Its an archaic experience to do bronze casting. The red hot bronze can be heatenend outside in a gas kiln. The technique is called dead-mold casting, the negative is made of 10 layers of zircar mold-mix, it needs a lot of patience because every layer has to be added uniformly and must be absolutely dry before the next layer will be added. At the end you burn the mold, the wax drops out completely and the mold is hard like an egg-shell. The advantage is that you can create complicated forms with undercuts and you don´t need a multi-piece negative.

Painting of monstera deliciosa

Painting of monstera deliciosa

This plant impresses me a lot because of its aura of life energy. Once I put a cutted leave in a pot of water - it started to be rooted and seemed to stay green forever. The monstera plant is a than-life-artist - because of its windows in its leaves also leaves below get light for fotosynthesis and can survive.

When I was a teenager, my father, master sculptor of stone and wood, taught me: A good statue must look interesting from 360°. - That´s what I never forgot and what I tried first time here.
